Agent Profile

See and shape what the agent remembers about a target, and every scan it has run on each mission.

Overview

Each target has an Agent Profile: what the agent remembers about the target and every scan it has run there. Use it to set guardrails (what the agent must not do without asking), teach the agent context it should know, and look back at earlier scans of a mission.

  1. Open Pentests > Targets and select a target.
  2. Click Agent Profile. The panel opens with the heading Agent profile and two tabs, Memory and History.

Guardrails

The GUARDRAILS section of the Memory tab lists the things the agent will not do on this target without asking. Each guardrail comes from one of three sources:

TagSourceWhat you can do
NoneAdded on this targetEdit or delete it.
From the engagementSet on the engagementSwitch it off for this target.
SystemBuilt into PENOPS (Destructive change, Service disruption)Switch it off for this target.

Add a guardrail

  1. In Memory, click Add guardrail.
  2. Enter a title of up to 200 characters, for example "Do NOT scan /payments without approval".
  3. Optionally add context of up to 4,000 characters.
  4. Click Save guardrail. In the title field, Enter saves and Escape cancels.

Change or remove guardrails

  • To edit a guardrail you added, click it or its Edit icon, then Save changes.
  • To remove one you added, click Delete. For an inherited guardrail, click Switch off for this target; it stops pausing the agent on this target only.
  • Restore defaults deletes the guardrails added on this target and switches every inherited guardrail back on.

See Human-in-the-loop approvals for what happens when the agent trips a guardrail.

Context and mission focus

The CONTEXT section holds free-form notes and guidance for the agent. The first card, Mission focus, is tagged From the engagement and is read-only here. Your own notes follow it.

  1. In Memory, click Teach the agent something new.
  2. Enter a title and the note.
  3. Click Save note.

Click a note to edit it, or its trash icon to delete it. To change Mission focus, edit the engagement's Mission Focus section in Engagement settings.

History: every scan of a mission

The History tab lists each scan that worked on the open mission, newest first. Each entry is titled Manual run, Scheduled run or Approval follow-up, with its date and an outcome: Confirmed, Ruled out, Awaiting approval, In progress or Unsuccessful.

  1. Open a mission, then click Agent Profile and choose History.
  2. Click a scan entry. The thread shows the mission as it was in that scan.
  3. Click the newest entry to return to the latest scan.

If a mission has no scans yet, the tab reads No scans recorded for this mission.

Permissions

ToYou need
See guardrailsPentest > Targets: Read
Add, edit, switch off or restore guardrailsPentest > Targets: Write
Add, edit or delete context notesWrite on any Engagements permission (for example Engagements > Web App: Write), or Pentest > Exposure: Write

Without guardrail access, the section reads You do not have access to this target's guardrails. Pentest > Targets: Write on its own does not let you add context notes.

Good to know

  • Guardrails and notes apply to every mission on the target, including missions in later scans.
  • Changes appear immediately. If one cannot be saved, it rolls back and you see an error.
  • Guardrails tagged From the engagement cannot be edited in the app. You can only switch them off per target.
